Turning coastal ecosystems into investable assets.

Brightwater develops high-quality blue carbon projects.

We are uniquely able to co-develop projects with governments and communities. Our track record speaks for itself – with first credits on track for 2027 and a model built to scale across Latin America and the Caribbean, starting with our pilot projects in Belize.

Executed alongside world-class technical partners and advisors:

Some of Nature’s most valuable ecosystems are the least protected.

Mangroves, seagrass, and coastal wetlands store 3–5x more carbon per hectare than tropical forests – and release it rapidly when degraded. Only 13.5% of global mangroves are strictly protected.

Protecting them can generate verified, tradable credits. Yet only 19 of 94 registered blue carbon projects worldwide have issued credits to date.

The market exists. Yet, supply remains constrained.

Our early pilots in Belize are going strong.

Belize is building one of the strongest foundations in blue carbon.

The Government of Belize issued one of the world's largest Blue Bonds ($364M), embedded mangroves in national climate law, and is establishing the legal framework for carbon credit development.

Brightwater is a key partner in bringing these projects to life – learn more here.

Every project is co-designed with our local community partners from day one.

A repeatable model for scaling high-integrity coastal projects.

Brightwater identifies priority coastlines, co-designs with governments and communities, structures institutional-grade credits, and manages through to verified issuance. Revenue flows back to government and community partners – and the model expands to new sites.

Every project is built to leading international verification standards, with community co-benefits structured in from day one.
