Jessie Stenftenagel is a marine biologist with over 25 years of experience leading marine conservation and sustainability initiatives across Latin America, Southeast Asia, and the United States. She holds a Master's in Environmental Science focused on coral reef health and Marine Protected Areas (MPAs).
At Brightwater, Jessie guides the development of nature-based solutions that protect coastal ecosystems, generate high-integrity blue carbon credits, and support sustainable livelihoods in coastal communities. Her background bridges scientific research, community-based conservation, and corporate sustainability, giving her a unique perspective on linking ecological integrity with economic impact.
Jessie has worked extensively in developing countries, studying the relationship between local communities and marine resources. An avid diver with over 1,500 logged dives, she brings both scientific expertise and a deep personal connection to the ocean to her work at Brightwater.
